Welcome, fig readers!
This season celebrates giving – so we’d like to say THANK YOU to Deb, Tracy, Matt and all the folks at Fig for supporting Open Studio this year by giving us the opportunity to partner with them as a social mission. Already, because of their partnership, we have made several new relationships with the community including several local artists and volunteers of all mediums, passions and abilities.
Thank you for helping us grow! Our interactive arts initiative at Water Street Ministries is still young but this year has been a great adventure, full of surprises and blessing from the artist community. We’ve loved meeting local folks passionate about art, people and the opportunity to make change. Please continue to join us in developing projects, new opportunities, shows and workshops.

About Open Studio

Art gives a voice to the voiceless. Art gives healing. Art gives. We invite you to be a part of OPEN STUDIO, a new journey to engage the arts and the Lancaster Community with Water Street Ministries.
The breadth and impact of this initiative is dependent on community and volunteer involvement.
Over the years, many individuals have approached Water Street Ministries with creative ideas of how they could use their talents within our five divisions: the Lydia Center, Teen Haven, Water Street Health Services, the Water Street Mission and Wonder Club Early Learning Centers. After dialoguing together to see how their idea could meet a need and make a difference, volunteers have conducted exercise classes, poetry classes, journaling classes, drawing classes, and more.
The impact has been huge, for both clients and volunteers. Stories are told, healing takes place and the goodness of God is praised!
Would you like to help lead or develop a creative project? Here are some examples of projects we've done:
Art Therapy Classes at the Lydia Center
Recycled Fashion Workshop at Teen Haven
Creative Morning Devotionals with the women at the Water Street Mission
To share your ideas or learn more, email Contact@WaterStreetMinistries and type 'Open Studio' in the subject line.
Many thanks to fig for partnering with this initiative!
